Pictured are Chris and Jaime Stivers the newest members of our team. They have been working tirelessly on the farm and we thank them for all of their care and hard work! Dr. Barber and I have been so busy we can't hardly remember what day it is. I am hearing the same thing from our compatriots over in Abilene at Dr. Law's office! I think every brood in the country must be in season right now!!! Maryville Rumble* has been incredibly busy as well. Lately he has been averaging a breeding every other day!
Seems as though with the slots going through in Kansas that everyone is in a good mood. The last couple of Meets were a bit on the somber side and I think it will be a different atmosphere out there next month. The trickle down effect will be huge. There will be new jobs created both at the tracks and on the farms.
Both Honest Emigrant* and Park Top (Darcy) are in season and will be bred. "Pork Chop" as her friends call her will be bred to Maryville Rumble* and "Emmy" will go to Red Thunder.
I have sent another tank of vials on Maryville Rumble* to Dr. Law this week. He is now re-stocked. Rumble's price increases to $750 on April 1st. Thanks to all of you who bred to him in the beginning of his stud career. Many took advantage of the introductory price. We wish you much success with your little Rumbles!
We are still looking for a few good females to breed to Red Thunder and Fine Silver*!!! Once their babies hit the track there will be no freebies! Both of these boys warrant good broods and both are impeccably bred. Bring all of your Gable Dodge females to Fine Silver*! I would like to see some Flying Penske girls in for Thunder and bring on the Irish bred girls!! Martin Roper is available to assist you with your pedigree and breeding decisions!

What a weekend!!! Pictured on the left are the core members of Greyhound Crossroads, our adoption group of choice. They are posed with Red Thunder who will sire their RaceForAdoption pup. All proceeds will benefit their group. The proud mom will be Honest Emigrant* an Irish import. Pat Begley and Tim Cahill designed the breeding of these two and we expect great things from the impending litter. We had a great time with the girls from GC. They met all the pups, broods and studs and the great Ozzie The Man. All posed for individual pics with the Oz-Some One. As you can see his brother, Red Thunder, isn't afraid of the camera either!

TDM Sadie blessed us with six healthy Loxahatchee Dash pups yesterday. This was our most highly anticipated litter of the year and they are finally here. We have four girls and 2 boys.

Donna and Doug Breda brought JT's Two Ears for a visit yesterday. Earsie got to see her half brother, Bokars Memory. It was a family reunion all the way around! Donna has offered to volunteer with Greyhound Crossroads to boot! It was a wonderful afternoon for greyhound adoption!

A huge THANK YOU to Jamie and Chris Stivers who tirelessly worked the farm all weekend long. They will be regular kennel helpers here from now on. As soon as we can get them to pose we will have pictures of them under "Staff". We cherish their friendship and welcome them aboard at Block Sporthounds! I don't know what we would have done this weekend without them!

Breeding season is upon us and the visiting broods are here in abundance! We wish everyone healthy, large litters! Dr. Barber, Star and I are working overtime. Thanks to Dr. Barber and Star for the long hours and care they give each and every one of these girls!

And last but not least. My buddy, my best friend....was honored today. Ozzie was named to the 2006 All American Team. He was third in the voting finishing only behind team captain Bob's Skeet and Extruding Dream. He is laying next to me asleep right now and doesn't even realize what he has accomplished! Dottie and Tony Morris, Tim Cahill and Cindy O'Connor...they have much to be proud of! They kept Ozzie's win streak alive to the tune of 26 races in a row. They tirelessly drove him back and forth from West Palm Beach to Hollywood to run in the World Classic....after running and WINNING the St. Pat's Invitational at Palm Beach! He ened up 2nd in the World Classic. They all have much to look forward to. The repeat breeding of Stan's Boy Flyer and Go Go Cleo is snuggled in at the Palm Beach Kennel compound....waiting to win races, set track records and make their own history. Sitting in the Morris' backyard are Ozzie's 7 week old nephews...also waiting to make their way onto the Palm Beach oval. You haven't even begun to hear the last of the Morris' or the Cahill and O'Connor Kennel. Ozzie will be down in May to see everyone!!!

We had a wonderful visit with The Stivers family and Bokars Memory (Manny) this afternoon. Manny was raised here and raced for my parents at Derby Lane, Palm Beach and Jacksonville. Top grade at all tracks and retiring in A from Jacksonville. Pictured on the left is Union Made, Eunice to her friends! Eunice has been pre-adopted by the Stivers family. She will live with Manny and their female boxer. Eunice is an especially beautifully marked girl and an especially sweet girl. We saw how wonderful Manny looked and wanted to give them this special girl. In the mean time I think Eunice has a whole new pack of cheerleaders watching her every move on the track! Congrats to Eunice and the Stivers!
Ozzie also had a big day today....entertaining of course!
It is days like these, with people like the Stivers that make me proud to be in this industry and to be blessed with adopters like them!
Good luck to all in the many stakes races tonight. Good luck to the Cahill and O'Connor Kennel with Super Lee in the St. Pat's Invitational at Palm Beach!

This picture is of Red Thunder's 5 week old sons. These young guns are already learning to chase! They look like extremely confident pups. Next to the Stans Boy Flyer x Go Go Cleo repeat litter, these little guys are some of the most highly antipcipated pups to set foot on a track. And they have already made visits to the Palm Beach Kennel Club's PR Department!!! I can't wait to see them in person in May!

Union Made (Teamster x Nebo Aquarius) had a less than exciting start to her career. She was unable to break her maiden in several attempts and her best effort was a 3rd. I decided to move her to the Wilma Edwards Kennel in Naples and give her one last ditch effort. Well that last effort has certainly paid off. She not only broke her maiden but in the next race won her first start in D to move up to C!!! Good job David and Wilma!!! I must say almost every single dog that I have ever given them has at least made it up to A!

TDM Sadie is due to whelp next Friday with her much anticipated litter by Loxahatchee Dash. I haven't had a Dash litter since 2000 and I cannot wait to get these!

Maryville Rumble* Has been off from drawing semen since December and this Monday he is going back to work. So those facilities that are running out of vials please give me a call. The first tankful is already slated to go to Dr. Law. I am going to try and get at least 30 vials to send to him first. Rumble has been a busy boy. He is averaging a breeding every other day. His price increases to $750 on April 1st. Any breedings PERFORMED on April 1st or later will be billed the new fee.

HAPPY ST. PATRICKS DAY!!!! From: Fine Silver* and Maryville Rumble*

Pictured is San Tan Rafe, a Finalist in the Derby Lane Million owned by Doug Allen and Mountain Kennel. What an accomplishment to make the finals! Congrats to all involved in this dog's stellar beginning of his career. We hope to see him in the Finals of the Sprint Classic at Derby Lane.
Reckless Kelly broke in at Palm Beach like gangbusters winning his first race by 13 and second by 8 lengths running for the Cahill and O'Connor Kennel. Kelly is our hopeful entry for the Palm Beach Grand Classic in May. Go Kelly!!!
TDM Sadie is HUGE with our litter of Loxahatchee Dash pups. This is probably our most anticipated litter of the year. Sadie is due at the end of the month.
Bug Bite has officially retired as a brood and will grace my house as my personal pet. Miz Noble Hart, her dam was one of my best and most loved and I made a promise to myself that I would always keep one of her offspring.
Danica Driver has been moved from the D'Arcy Kennel to the B & J Kennel at Jacksonville. She will run under the watchful eye of Bill Lambert. She regularly wore blinkers in training with Johnny and Derby Lane does not allow them. Thus she was moved. Bill will get her tuned up and running straight in no time!
I want to thank all of you who contributed to Alice Bellisle's funeral expenses. It was a very difficult time for the family and I am so blessed to be able to have gone down to Birmingham to work the kennel for them while they mourned. Alice was a wonderful person. She was one of the kindest hearted people you would ever meet. Her untimely death left me stunned. Although the circumstances were the worst imaginable it was fantastic to one again work with my mentor, Harry Bellisle. I don't think there was anyone else on this planet he wanted working in that kennel more than me and I wouldn't have it any other way! I was honored to be there.
There has been so much fighting and adversity in our industry but I was touched by the way people came together and gave to help the Bellisle Family.
Keep your eyes peeled on Palm Beach...the Ozzie "clone" has arrived and will be breaking in in the next 3 months! Go JUNIOR!!!!!
