Pat Floyd graciously reminded me that Hometown Boy was on the cover of the Greyhound Review. This is the cover from the May 2007 Review. Looking back and really analyzing this dog's career makes one realize just how awesome he was on one of our country's toughest and most demanding ovals, Derby Lane. I was busy Googling him today and there are so many newspaper articles on him that I was not even aware of. I cannot wait to get Hometown Boy here and get a start on his second career. I know that the Floyd's and I are hoping he will be as successful in the breeding barn as he was on the track.
Danica Driver ran a nice 3rd for me at Palm Beach this afternoon. She didn't break well and honestly I thought she was in the back....but she obviously drove up from 7th to make a paycheck. She has no idea how fast she is.
Park Top is due for the D'Arcy's this weekend. We are all hoping for a very safe and easy whelp for our Miss Pork Chop. She is a cherished girl around here and one of the kennel clowns. Her first litter by Rumble is being put 'round the gig tomorrow for the first time! They look outstanding in the field we will see what they do tomorrow!

Word is that Toxic Rocket has made his way to Abilene and will be photographed for his stud ad and DVD. Dom Espisito said he will be on his way in the coming week to WV then down to me to be collected, frozen and distributed to all facilities. If you are wanting a breeding to Rocket please contact me and I will see that you are a priority!
Brookside Bear* DVD's have arrived from Jeff Bradley and studkeeper, Chris Cronin. We will be offering semen on this Aussie sire. Please contact me or see me at Nationals for your DVD on "Bear" with kind regards from Jeff and Chris. Please contact me if you are interested in breeding to Bear as Chris needs to know how many vials to export! Please see Whitefort Bear and Whitefort Bomber. In my opinion some of Bear's best sons. Bear pups are flying in both Ireland and the UK!
Check out the latest tab on our website "Frozen Sires" this will feature overseas sires that we exclusively represent in America. All of their relevent information will be featured on their sire page! I hope you like the new feature AND patronise our international collection of sires!
Cueball update.....the word from Dr. Miller is that Cueball is doing very well and actually almost too well! He is hoping Cueball doesn't get over confident on his leg as he could undo everything he fixed. I want to sincerely thank everyone who has called and emailed about Cueball. He is a real special dog and will make a very special pet. I cannot say enough about Dr. Miller and his staff.
Check out Chris' Cache for Beautiful N Red's replay!

Huge congrats to my friend, Linda Russi on Oneco McDreamy's win. Linda hasn't had the best of luck so far in this business but "Derek" is sure turning things around for her!
We have heard from an owner of Bouncing Bucky pups that he likes Bucky's pups better than the pups out of his brother! And from now on....Bucky will be their man! Great news for our boy Bucky!
Congrats to Randy Finegan and the Magic City Kennel crew on their new litter of Maryville Rumble* pups. This looks to be a deep litter chock full of talent. I cannot wait to see what these youngsters do in graded competition.
I want to wish all of you a blessed Easter Sunday. We will all relax here and enjoy our day tomorrow.

Pictured is Meet The Creeper aka "Cueball". Cueball was injured racing yesterday and is undergoing surgery to repair a lateral condral of the tibia. I will bring home Cueball as a pet in the near future.
BIG NEWS....Hometown Boy will be joining our stud barn in the coming weeks. We recieved the call today from Randy Floyd and we are all thrilled here to be getting this great champion. I am sure the West Virginia breeders will be utilizing him in the coming weeks as I think he will be a great sire for both Wheeling and Tri-State! We will have a DVD on him soon. Watch his sire page as well for replays, breeding info, pics and his pedigree. He hails from an incredibly deep litter which includes Brady Thomas, Legends Field and Miss Merle.
Baby's Got Heart won again for Henry Howe and Brett Gerst at Jacksonville. Congrats to both of them.
Also....watch out for the new litter of Maryville Rumble* pups breaking in at Southland and Derby Lane for Magic City Kennel owned by Randy Finegan. They are winning their schools by double digits going away. Several have come frm behind wins. This should definately put to rest any uneasiness that Rumble may throw short!
Red Thunder...... his first litter will be running out at the Nationals out of My Lil Mouse. Keep an eye on these monsters. I am hearing they can break the box and have strong rushes to the turn. Sharon Williams recently bred to Thunder.....that speaks volumes!

Pictured is Oneco McDreamy. He is our friend, Linda Russi's Fall auction purchase. He races for the B&B kennel at Palm Beach. "Derek" has grown up since we last saw him and looks wonderful. This photo was snapped right after a winning school! Handsome devil he is!
Both Dolly Madison and JR's Prelude went off feed on schedule. We are looking forward to FOUR new litters in the coming weeks!
All of our sires have been extremely busy....especially Rumble (of course!), Swahili Eile and Bouncing Bucky! We thank all for their continued patronage of our world class sires.
Jade Alleway made it safely back to England and has resumed kennel duties for Chris Allsop. We miss her and wish her well. Her dad, Colin, has returned home from the hospital and is on the mend. We wish him a continued speedy recovery.
Several new Maryville Rumble litters are now at race tracks. Doug Allen's are at the Patrick McMillon owned and trained kennel at Tri-State. News from Patrick is if they run as good as they look we have champs. Thanks to Joey Lingle, our finishing trainer for all the hard work he put into our pups! Randy Finegan's litter out of Wheeliecool are official schooling at both Southland and DerbyLane. We wish Randy luck with his Rumbles! The D'Arcy Kennel at St.Pete also have three Rumbles bred, born and raised here. We have great expectations for these Mick D'Arcy trained youngsters!
Congrats to Henry Howe on Take It Over. "Mudd" is one of the most highly respected racing greyhounds in the country. This young lad was a homegrown Jacksonville pup. He is turning heads all over the world. We wish Henry and the entire B&J Kennel clan continued success with this outstanding, once in a lifetime pup.

Pictured is Jade Alleway with Ozzie (of course). Jade returned home to England this evening. We will miss her. She was a joy to have on the farm.
HOT...HOT....HOT....word from the Patrick McMillon kennel is that Roger Knauff's Rumble pup can RUN! Set one of the fastest times of the day at Tri-State and came from 3rd to win her school. Doug Allen's Rumble's arrive in the McMillon kennel tomorrow. Patrick trains the track record holder, Jimi Hendrix owned by Plum Creek. We wish Roger the best of luck with RCK Cleopatra!
I am back to the grindstone in the AM and will be back in the lab full time freezing semen tomorrow. Vacation in Florida was great....now back to work!
Also we will all be back in chat at the regular time. Come join us for greyhound fellowship every night right here at Block Sporthounds.com.

We had another bitch brought in by Tim Allen. This girl is for our Swahili Eile*. Speaking of Eile*, we met many Irish whilst in FL including top studkeeper, Michael Dunphy and breeder of the unstoppable bitch, Alexandrova, Paul Kiely. ALL had only great things to say about Eile. I truly believe he will make a great impact here in the States. He seems to have nothing but respect from the Irish. That spoke volumes as to the decision Ricky Fitzgerald and I made to import Eile to the States. His pups here look special.
Packer Backer is in this afternoon at Jacksonville for his first "B" start. Danica Driver just ran and finished 3rd in her "C" race. Meet The Creeper is on this afternoon as well.
We wish Jade a safe journey home and I hope to visit her and experience racing in England soon!

Jade and I went with Rob Britton, Sean Bourke and Paul Kiely back to the Fillipelli Kennel to meet Ardkill Jamie in person. What a fantastic animal he is!
Jade and I were able to watch Linda Russi's Oneco McDreamy school. He looked to have taken to the Palm Beach oval quite well and will be cautiously targeted for Grand Classic competition based on his immediate future performances.
Packerbacker ran another cracking race and totally dominated to easily move into B competition for the B&J Kennel at Jacksonville. "Favre's" win came on the heels of his namesake announcing his retirement from the Green Bay Packers. Favre looks to be a special pup and should easily move into top grade competition in the coming weeks.
Word from Mick D'Arcy is the Maryville Rumble pups are AM schooling and doing everything right. They are very young and puppy-ish but are progressing nicely. The rest of the litter is moving in to the Patrick McMillon owned and trained kennel at Tri-State for Doug Allen. Our finishing trainer, Joey Lingle is extremely hopeful that these will be highly competitive, top grade pups for Doug.
Whilst in Florida my computer had a massive meltdown. Chris Stivers was able to get all info loaded onto an external drive. We have purchased a whole new system with computers networked. We are still working on loading software and figuring things out. If you have emailed through the website with no response in the past 7 days you may want to call. I am not certain the mail off the site is in fact being forwarded to me.
We are hoping (God willing) to have a very major stud announcement in the coming weeks. Hopefully in time to get a DVD done in time to hand out at Nationals. Stay tuned.....
Oh...and our dear friend, Colin Alleway is now at home and recovering. I am sure he will be joining us in our nightly chats again soon. I am hoping to get over to England for a visit in the coming months. I think Clonmel in February for a girls week out is in the plans as of right now.
