Here are the Swahili Eile* pups, Blade and Duchy at 4.5 weeks. They weigh well over 10 pounds and are growing like weeds. Their great sire as been very busy lately and now has semen available at Dr. David Moses in Ocala, FL.

I also have sent Bouncing Bucky semen down to Dr. Moses. We now have semen on Bucky at all NGA approved facilities.

I also need to comment on the recent discussion on the message boards about imported stud dogs. We have brought over sires that are well suited to the American tracks and the stamina and durability that they demand. When considering an imported stud dog you must be mindful of the differences in track configuration, radius of the turns, as well as the distance the dog is capable of running. As a rule of thumb, minus 25 yds. from a dog's best distance in Ireland and you will have approx. the distance he is capable of running here. For instance, a dog that can barely make the 550yds at Shelbourne would be hard pressed to make 525 yds. here in America. You want a STRONG 575 yd. dog that is extending at the line. Also pedigrees dosed with distance blood is important. You will note that top American breeder, Vince Berland, regularly imports "Westmead" females for his stud dogs here. The "Westmead" dogs are noted for their strong staying abilities. We have imported dogs who we KNOW could stay a strong 550 yd. course here in America, are bred in the purple and were raced at Ireland's premier track, Shelbourne Park in OPEN CLASS competition. Anything that we import for use here has months of homework behind him.

Racing....Oneco Mc Dreamy is on at St. Pete tonight! GO DEREK. Both Packer Backer and Baby's Got Heart will be on for their maiden races this weekend at Orange Park. This looks to be a litter with serious ability. We thank our "teammates" at B&J Kennel for getting these youngsters ready to go and schooling them on in dominating fashion.
